Whistle Bear Wedding Photos of Quinn and Jack in Fall

Quinn and Jack’s Whistle Bear wedding photos were the most recent ones I had the privilege and honour of capturing for this wonderful family. I first met them a few years ago when I photographed Nicki and Brandon’s wedding. Since then, I’ve also had the joy of documenting Ginnie and Malcolm’s wedding, Nicki’s mom.

Over the years, I’ve built such a heartfelt connection with this amazing family, so when Quinn reached out to book me for their own wedding, I was absolutely thrilled to be part of their memories once again. To ensure their day received the same level of care and artistry as the others, I immediately booked Erika, who had been part of the last two weddings. I wanted Quinn and Jack to experience everything we had created for the previous weddings in their own Whistle Bear wedding photos.

The Beginning Stages of These Whistle Bear Wedding Photos

Having photographed Quinn and Jack before at their sisters’ and mom’s weddings, I knew it would be incredibly fulfilling to begin their own wedding journey with me by planning their engagement photo session. In the blog “Elora Mill Engagement at Golden Hour with Quinn and Jack,” I shared the beautiful photos we captured that summer, just a few months before their fall wedding.

That relaxed session gave us the perfect rehearsal before their Whistle Bear wedding photos later that same season. With the experience of Nicki’s and Ginnie’s weddings behind them, Quinn and Jack made thoughtful plans to ensure everyone at their celebration would have an amazing time.

Since their wedding was taking place at Whistle Bear Golf Club, they secured a beautiful Airbnb right across from the main entrance. The property was perfect—not only did they invite their friends to stay there, but the bridesmaids also got ready at the same location, with the photo session fully planned to be completed before the ceremony. Meanwhile, Jack and the groomsmen spent the morning getting ready at Ginnie and Malcolm’s house.

The Groomsmen Getting Ready in Conestogo

This time, at Ginnie and Malcolm’s beautiful house, Erika spent the morning with Jack, the groomsmen, and his family, while I was with Quinn and the bridesmaids. For some reason, I’ve always felt a special connection to this home—it’s such a gorgeous place to photograph, and I’ve had the privilege of capturing memories there on two previous occasions.

Erika did a fantastic job, making the most of the outdoor spaces for photos with the boys, capturing playful moments around the basement pool table, and highlighting the fun energy of the groomsmen. She also photographed the immediate family in the traditional spot, just as I had done in the past. Honestly, even if I had been there myself, I couldn’t have captured those moments any better than Erika did.

The Perfect Airbnb for These Whistle Bear Wedding Photos

When I arrived at the address Quinn had shared with me, I had no idea just how stunning the place would be. Just a short walk from Whistle Bear Golf Club, the property featured breathtaking scenery, including a large backyard pond, and I couldn’t wait to start capturing their wedding photos.

Inside the spacious, open-concept living room, the makeup and hairstyling artists were busy with the bridal party, and the atmosphere felt wonderfully relaxed from the moment I stepped in. I already knew half of the people in the room, which made it easy to jump right into photographing without losing any time.

Even though we had plenty of time set aside for photos, I felt like there were so many beautiful opportunities that I couldn’t possibly capture them all. In no time, I had completed the candid getting-ready shots and moved on to the sweet bride’s reveal moments.

We had scheduled four reveals: Quinn with her dad, with the bridesmaids, with the groomsmen, and finally, the first look between Jack and Quinn. Each one unfolded beautifully, filled with emotion—and by the time we reached the last reveal, the most heartfelt moment of all was about to take place.

When Jack and the groomsmen arrived, he stayed in front of the house while the others went inside for their reveal with Quinn. I stepped outside to greet him and scout the perfect spot for their first look. The backyard was stunning, with plenty of beautiful options, but I wanted to keep them in the shade. It was an unusually warm October day, and since Quinn and Jack had requested that their family and bridal party be part of the moment, I wanted everyone to have a good view.

I positioned Jack at the top of the staircase near a small waterfall, while Quinn approached him from the bottom of the steps. Their family and bridal party gathered on the balcony, allowing them to watch and snap photos without interrupting the emotional moment.

As Quinn gracefully walked toward Jack, I knew there would be no stopping the flood of joy that was about to unfold. The excitement, the tears, and the heartfelt hugs touched everyone who witnessed this unforgettable first look. When Jack and Quinn saw each other for the very first time on their wedding day, it was a moment like no other. Having known them for more than five years, I found myself quietly wiping away tears of joy behind the camera.

The Photo Session at Whistle Bear

As planned, we didn’t take many photos at Whistle Bear itself—the goal was to capture all of the key images at the house. At Whistle Bear, Quinn and Jack wanted to spend time mingling with their guests and perhaps sneak in a few golden hour shots.

At the house, we completed all of the immediate family photos, the bridal party portraits, and intimate photos of just the two of them. The pond, combined with the warm light of this beautiful fall day, created a stunning backdrop for their images. Quinn’s elegant wedding dress and Jack’s sharp tuxedo perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the setting.

Once we had captured everything we wanted, I was thrilled with the results. Without missing a beat, we headed next door to start their Whistle Bear wedding ceremony photos. Meanwhile, Erika photographed the gorgeous setup in the Rose Room as it awaited Quinn and her bridesmaids. I made my way to the wedding chapel to begin preparing for their Whistle Bear wedding ceremony photos.

The Wedding Ceremony at Whistle Bear Outdoor Chapel

Having enough time to capture the arrival of their wedding guests and those candid moments was a true pleasure. By positioning myself almost invisibly, I was able to document elegant, spontaneous, and once-in-a-lifetime interactions between Jack, his family, and their guests.

As the officiant announced the start of the ceremony, guests tucked away their phones to fully experience Quinn and Jack’s unplugged wedding. The ceremony was emotional, elegant, funny, and beautiful—a moment that resonated with the bridal party, their guests, and even us as their photographers.

I captured the ceremony in a documentary style, knowing that these moments would be treasured forever. This part of any wedding is always my favourite, and we all genuinely enjoyed it.

After Quinn and Jack sealed their marriage with a kiss, they walked out of the chapel, and we headed to Whistle Bear’s signature spot for photos—the front waterfall. There, we captured most of the extended family portraits, additional bridal party shots, and a few intimate photos of just the couple with the stunning scenery as their backdrop.

The Cocktail Hour With a Lounge Feel at the Terrace of the Rose Room

After setting up my lighting, I left Erika to photograph more of the details inside the Rose Room while I joined Quinn and Jack, who were enjoying themselves with their wedding guests. I love using the cocktail hour to capture couples connecting with their friends and family—it’s such a natural, joyful time. Of course, every couple has their own plans for the day, and my role is to make those moments happen exactly as they want them to.

As the cocktail hour continued, I kept an eye on the sun, thinking about how we could capture some stunning golden hour photos with the couple. I really wanted them to have those images, but I also didn’t want to intrude on or interrupt their conversations with friends and family.

The Reception Ceremony in The Rose Room at Whistle Bear

Whether by design or coincidence, Erika and I ended up seated with the same group of people we had been with at the family’s previous two weddings. We rarely get that opportunity, so seeing familiar faces made us feel like genuine guests at the celebration, not just vendors.

The reception moved quickly, and once the bridal party and couple got their introductions, everything started happening even faster. The MCs were family members, which led to many fun and memorable moments during the speeches and in between.

At one point, I noticed the perfect opportunity to take Quinn and Jack outside and didn’t hesitate. Knowing we had less than ten minutes before their first dance and the following speech, Erika, the Whistle Bear wedding coordinator, and I moved swiftly.

Their golden hour Whistle Bear wedding photos became some of the most unique images we captured that year. Jack, a little loosened up from a few drinks, was chatty and relaxed, while Quinn embraced the moment and made the most of having both of us capturing their photos.

With all these circumstances in place, every photo felt genuine and unique. Nothing was posed or staged—we simply moved with the moment, capturing fleeting, unforgettable memories.

Party at the Rose Room at Whistle Bear

Once Jack and Quinn returned, they gave their speech following the first dance, and the party in the house was officially underway. By then, Erika had left, and I was ready to capture the fun, fully aware of how this family knows how to celebrate.

The dance floor quickly filled with happy faces, and the music brought energy to the room. Having experience with their previous events, I didn’t stay at the edges—I stepped onto the dance floor with a wide-angle lens, capturing joyful, spontaneous dance moves led by my couple.

At one point, Ginnie came up to me and said, “Well, now I don’t have any more children to marry. I guess we won’t see each other anymore.” Felt a pang of sadness—it was true—but then I remembered that Nicki and Brandon had just welcomed their baby girl, and Quinn and Jack would likely follow suit someday. I replied, “We don’t have any other children, but there will be grandchildren, right?” She smiled, and we shared a hug before I left.

Before leaving, I made a promise to Nicki to gift them a family photo session to capture their fun together after all the weddings were over. Since all of the weddings took place in the fall and winter, I suggested a Christmas session. I’m really looking forward to seeing them this year and creating even more memories for this wonderful family.
