Patience is a virtue. It’s not my strongest suit. Sometimes I don’t have a choice, I need to wait. In the case with Yvonne and her family photo session, I had no choice. For various reasons, we just couldn’t seem to connect. Then, it seemed like out of the blue, we met for a photo shoot.<\/div>\n

Music is Life<\/strong><\/div>\n
Yvonne’s life passion is music. She enjoys listening to and playing music on her guitar. I can relate – the whole time I work in my studio editing photos I have music on in the background. Music helps me focus and keeps me engaged in what I’m doing.

Naturally, when Yvonne brought out her guitar, I knew what to do with it. We began posing the kids with the guitar and one of my favourite images of the day is of her newborn draped across the bass of the instrument. Yvonne’s daughter had a sincere pleasure in playing a few notes. She was excited by the sound of her fingers plucking the strings!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Pets are Family Too!<\/strong><\/div>\n
When I go to a photo shoot and see that the family I’m working with has a pet, I know that I’ll be working their fur-baby into the shots I take. Families don’t generally ask for photos with their pets. For whatever reason, they don’t feel like they can or should ask. But, I love working the pets in any way that I can. I feel your pet is an important part of your family, so there’s no reason to leave him out of the picture! It’s up to you whether or not you display pictures of your dog in your home, but I like to take the photos to at least give you the option. It only takes a minute and you will have the memories of your pet for a lifetime.

The Beauty of Home<\/strong><\/div>\n
Why bundle everyone up to take them out for a photo shoot when you can take great photos in your own backyard? Yvonne’s kids have one of the best backyards to play in and the photo taking opportunities were abundant as well. Their space is huge and has a play structure that the kids will enjoy for years to come. Taking photos in their outdoor space was a no-brainer, Yvonne and her kids will love revisiting the memories of their time spent in their yard through their photos.<\/div>\n
