Wedding at The David Duncan House

When people first consider a wedding at David Duncan house, they conjure up images of historical, elegant, luxuriously opulent settings. One of the things I do to stay one step ahead of the game as a highly regarded wedding photographer, is to scout the locations before the big day. This allows me to map out ideas in my head and work spontaneously whilst knowing which options and looks are available to me. This image was taken at David Duncan house and the thing that is first apparent if the vibrancy of the RGB (red, green, blue). The red door, green structure and the blue sky. It is a complete contrast to the historical main house and with the help of some careful enhancing, I managed to make the originally washed out colours pop off the page. I think because it is such a washed out building, it is often dismissed, but this is a perfect example of why you should never limit your imagination. If you can envision it, you can make it happen. I placed the couple off centre and took the photo from afar to capture both the texture and the entire image. The almost dirty looking grooves in the building worked really well in adding shadows and darker areas within the shot. This gave the image a rustic yet almost retro look which was a fantastic addition to the other beautiful backdrops back at the house.
